According to a recent expense report filed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), the Congressional delegation's trip to the Climate Change Summit in Copenhagen cost more than $1.1 million in taxpayer dollars.
Overall, more that 160 people made the trip to Copenhagen, including members of Congress, their staff, the State Department, EPA, and even some family members. Just to get everyone to Denmark it took three military jets, two 737's and a Gulfstream Five business jet that can hold up to 64 passengers. The cost of these flights alone accounted for roughly half of the trip's total cost.
Nancy Pelosi has refused any questions regarding the Copenhagen expense report and she wouldn't even offer an explanation as to why the Congressional delegation ended up being so large.

thanks for the eye opener - hope some of our more liberal friends read this one and think about it.Hey Marijo, thanks for your comment. I also wish more people would become aware of their elected officials wasteful spending.
Jeremy:I don't believe becoming aware of the resources our elected officials are wasting will stop the waste. It will take something more than being aware to make a point in their awareness for them to realize we don't like what they do.
I agree with you there Harlan. At some point we need to find a way to hold them accountable for their actions instead of just talking about it.
